Spring 2023 -- Yale

This work examines the 13th Amendment and its allowance of slavery as a "punishment for crime." The piece's background embodies the American flag and nation with a red, white, and blue palette. However, the gray bars stretching across the piece and the block of figures behind them remind us that this country isn't truly free despite the overarching presence of the 13th Amendment."
